My sad little Rocky..My niece is staying with us for a couple months. She has a cat named Pieces. That cat does not like my little Rocky. I saw it twice try to swipe at him. He came in from the garage last night with his left eye bleeding.
I took him to the vet today. He is having surgery. The cat tore his third eyelid and scratched the corner and inside of his eye. They need to remove the skin that is damaged and hanging inside his eye. The good news is he will not lose any of his vision.
He will get to come home tomorrow. The cat will stay in a create when in the house, or it can wander around outside. I told my niece the cat can wander around ,in the house at night when me and Rocky are sleeping.
Poor Rocky. Here he is with his left eye damaged. I was so sad to leave him at the vets today.

FORGIVE ONE PERSON TODAY. OPEN YOUR HEART TO THAT PERSON, AND RELEASE UNNECESSARY SUFFERING FROM THE PAST. FEEL THE PEACE THAT FOLLOWS FROM THIS SIMPLE ACT.

I forgive my niece and her cat. Rocky's eye could of been worse.

As a fellow doggie-mommy, I certainly feel for you Catra. I'll keep Rocky in my prayers tonight. Poor little baby.

Oh nooo! Hope everything goes well. I know what it feels like to leave a loved one at the vet. Very depressing indeed.

I just stumbled upon your blog and I am sad that this was the first post I had to read.

Rocky used to be master of his domain. Now he is a prisoner in his own house being forced to look over his shoulder with paranoia.

I think Ann Landers said it best when she said something along the lines of "Guests must never stay more than 3 days or they overstay their welcome". More importantly, and you know this one from your packing experience "Leave no trace".

I would say that cat has left a trace of its presence in an unnecessary location.

HI Catra, Sorry to hear about Rocky. I hope that he is doing better and makes a full recovery. we have an old cat that doesn't much like our dog and we worry about our cat doing the same thing to our dog.

we are off to Austin, TX to meet up with some friends at the old settlers music festival for some down time after tax season. going to pick some banjo and pluck some bass, and hopefully, God willing, will get back on track with my running. would like to meet up with you somewhere this year and run a few miles together.

have a great weekend.

Oh, your poor little man! Sorry to hear that, and I hope he gets well soon. Nice job on your training run Catra. I was watching the Horton movie last night and thinking about you. You're amazing!

I think what really happend was that Rocky was in a knock down, drag out fight with another dog - a Rottie - and got socked in the eye - it was swelling up fast so he turned to the cat and said, "cut me, Pieces, just cut me" - cat's being kinda stupid, he cut poor Rocky too deeply and while he won the fight, now must have some surgery. Rocky will be ok to fight again soon, he'll just have to watch out for those right hooks...

Hi Catra,
I'm sorry about what happened to Rocky. It's good that he didn't lose his vision. You look like you had fun fastpacking.

I did the AR50 this past Saturday. I had a blast. Scott paced me from Beals Point. My time was better than last year. Most of all we had fun running it.

Thanks a bunch for all your encouragement. I was going to sign up for Mi Wok but it's sold out. Takecare...ofie

That's horrible! Poor Rocky. It would be hard to leave him. I'd have to call in sick (lucky I have that option). I hope he gets better fast.
