In a world where you can be anything you want, BE YOURSELF.

Truman ran his longest run to date yesterday 16 miles. Yes he's a rockstar.
I'm getting excited people!! Western states 100 is next weekend, please send me positive thoughts next weekend during the race.

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” ― Winston Churchill

San Diego 100 was a success.
I finished!!
I knew going into this race it would be a race that would change me this year.
It had been 5 months since my relationship ended with Andy, I had not talked to him or seen him only texted and emails were exchanged prior.
I decided to reach out to him so it would not be awkward when we saw each other face to face.
It was nice to hear his voice it was just like long ago when we were friends.

We decided we would not talk about the past.
It was nice seeing him and for me all I wanted was closure. Just seeing him gave me that,  I wanted answers but decided why?? It's over and I just need to move on.

I drove up with Andy Noise and Joel Livesey from Bakersfield.
I had a blast with both if them. Joel was to be Andy noises pacer.
Ok fast forward to race day.
I went solo no crew or pacer had a good race until mile 72 I actually hooked up with another runner and pacer John and Carl.
I started slowing down and was pretty much done by 80 but there was an angel waiting for me his name was Joel. Once I saw him I was happy and excited and I became happy.
He kept me going like a seasoned pro. Even though it was his first time pacing. He has only run a few ultras but he is a lot like me. He wants more and is running his first hundred this year.

I was happy to have him pace me and telling me his story which is a lit like mine addict background.

The race had a very low finishing rate because of the heat happy I felt pretty darn good through most of it.

Joel did such an awesome job he will be at AC 100 helping

My time was 30:21 it was finish number 8 for San Diego. It was my 92nd hundred mile finish woo hoo.

Good things come to those who wait… greater things come to those who get off their ass and do anything to make it happen.”

Well it's that time of year again it's San Diego 100 time!! Woo hoo!!
I will be going for finish #8 this year.
Last year there was a glitch in the system and I failed to finish. I hope to have no issues this year and I hope for a strong finish.
The only issue I am having is seeing my X for the first time in 5 months.
I am hoping to have a phone conversation this week with him so we don't feel awkward when we see each other.
I have happily moved on and I wish him the best. It will be nice to share the trails with him again since he has been injured since December.
I am looking forward to seeing all my friends on the trail.
I hope all of you can send me positive vibes this weekend. Thanks!!
