I AM PURE SPIRIT!

I am aware that I am
pure consciousness. I am
not lonely or lost or abandoned.
I am one with all of life.

Hi catra,

I like following your free spirit.

Maybe that is what appeals most to me about ultrarunning. One with nature and oneself.

hey catra,
i just got home from running my first 100 this past weekend. just wanted to thank you for all the great tips i've taken from your posts over the past couple for my training/racing. most of all the advice a few weeks ago about just letting my foot rest when i thought maybe i had a stress fracture. i really felt like i wanted to get out on it a little more and test it out before the race, but i mostly rested it instead and this seemed to be the perfect approach. it didn't bother me at all during the race and things went really well. now i just need to find a way to feel as good for the full 100 as i felt for the first 80 miles.

BIG congrats to you, Geoff! If you figure out how to feel as good the last 20 of a 100 as you do the first 80, let me know :)

hey catra,

i'm on day seven of the cleanse and all i can think about is food! can you tell me what some of your favorite raw food recipes are? i know you mentioned making raw treats for RR a few weeks ago. i don't think i want to eat only raw at this point, but i'd love to incorporate many more raw foods into my diet.

good luck getting healthy and getting back to running again!

Geoff-
I'm so proud of you you sound like you did awesome. Great job.
Every 100 is different for me. Some race's are easy and some are hard. That's what I love about running hundreds you never know whats going to happen.
100 miles is a long way to go. ;)
So what's your next hundred???

Hey Anon-
My favortie raw treat is super
simple to make. I call them CATRA ENERGY BALLS!
here's what you need.
1/2 cup carob powder
3 cups shredded unswetened coconut
3/4 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup agave nectar

In a med. bowl, combine the carob powder and shredded coconut, and mix well. Add the coconut oil and agave nectar and mix well. Using an ice cream scoop, scoop into approximatley 16 balls. Freeze for at least 30 min. before serving. You can store them in the freezer.
They are super yummy. Enjoy. Let me know what you think!

hey catra,
i don't know just when my next 100 is going to be but i'm pretty sure there will be more to come. i live in alaska so i may just have to wait a full year until the susitna 100 comes around again. i know i told you before, but you should come up here next year for the susitna. it's really a great race as long as your properly prepared for the cold. it wasn't too bad this year though. got down to about -5 but it wasn't windy at all so it really didn't feel that cold. you should check out my girlfriend's blog: www.arcticglass.blogspot.com
she did the susitna on bike and has some great stories/photos from the race.

Hi Catra, I just want to tell you how wonderful I think you are. Thanks for putting in the time to post pictures and stories of your adventures. I bet we only hear a tid bit of the things you experience. You are such a beautiful person inside and out. There is just something hot about an Ultrarunning woman. If only half the people in this world had an attitude like yours, it would be a much better place to live.
