I'm a happy camper! Why you ask!
I got to go to the gym. I rode the bike 15 miles and did 300 different ab exercises. I also did legs.
I really, really hope my doctor tells me tomorrow I can start running next week :)

Damn I'm sore!
Hiked 8 miles yesterday up Mission Peak. I didn't think I would be sore. I guess my body is not use to hiking. It had been 18 days since I last ran. So being able to at least hike makes me happy.
Me & Rocky did 6 miles today. He so badly wanted to run. I just tied his leash around me and let him pull me along.
I'm heading out to the gym to ride the bike for an hour and do some light leg work.
Have a great day.

I was given the ok by Doctor Zandi yesterday, that I could start hiking.
I didn't really tell him I would be doing an 8 mile hike up Mission Peak. He just said take it easy when I hike which I did.
I can also ride the bike in the gym and I will do some leg exercises.
No upper body for at least another week.
I was so happy to get back out on the Ohlone Wilderness trail.
I was happy to beat the rain. It's pouring right now .

Wish I was out running in the rain. Since I can't right now, I can enjoy it by standing in it, in my backyard.
I really do love running in the rain. Soon I will be back out there.
Hopefully my doctor tells me today I can start riding the bike in the gym and hiking up and down Mission Peak.

Ahhh...The beauty of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Soon I will head out with my friend Julien for a 2,700 mile journey that will take us from the Mexican border to Canada.
These next few months I will live eat and sleep the PCT. I am in planning mode reading and focusing on what a fun journey I have ahead of me starting May 23rd.
This picture was taken on Sonora pass. I did this 76 mile section in a push, with a hiker I met on the trail. It took us 34 hours. What fun times I had last Summer. I can't wait for the fun times this Summer.

Me & Rocky working the Moon aid station at the Sequoia trail runs.
We had a blast. It was great putting faces to all the names of my blog posters.
I hope you all had awesome runs.
I'm looking forward to maybe running with some of you in the near future as soon as I can run again.
The next race I will work is the next PCTR in two weeks. So maybe I will see some of you again.
Just a FYI, in March the day before Cool 50k I will be putting together a 40 mile trail run on the course.
Let me know if you might be interested. I will also volunteer at the HWY 49 aid station during the race.
We will start the run from the Damn overlook in Auburn at 8am and run out to cool to the Fire station then run the loop past 49 and back to the Damn overlook.
It will be fun.
Usually takes 10-11 hours.

ROCKY RACCOON 100.
I went to RR100 with my favorite Dirty girl Xy weiss. The plan was to run the whole race with her.
We did this at Javelina 100 back in October and had a blast!
The race started at 6am and it was 27 degrees. That's what someone said. I was very cold. We warmed up a little after we started running. I wanted to get us in in under 4 hours for the first loop, which I did.
Xy went into the race with a knee problem that developed after across the years 24 hour run in December.
I ran ahead and would wait at the aid stations. On our second loop she took a fall on her shoulder and told me she wasn't going to be having a good day. She told me just to keep going on my own. I got a little sad because my plan was to run with her, and now she was having issues. I tend to worry about my friends, but she knew she was having problems and didn't want me to have to slow down.
She later dropped at mile 72. Her IT band gave her problems and she slowed way down. She's doing the Grand slam and didn't want to develope a major injury that would put her out of the slam. She made the right choice to drop.
I ran a very mellow race I just wanted to finish. I ran this race in 1999 as my first 100. I struggled through and finished in 27:18. I just want to feel good and have fun.
Last month at Hurt 100 I got bummed out that I felt so bad and only ran 100k.
On loop 4 I hooked up with Butch from Texas. We had a good time. It got cold and we just wanted to get back to the start finish and put our warm clothes on.
I ended up putting on beanie, ear warmer, gloves with hand warmers, long sleeve shirt, vest, running jacket, rainjacket and pants.
That's how cold I was.
We headed out and were running as a team modivating each other through the night. Butch is a strong runner and I felt like I was holding him back. At one point I told him to go ahead and leave me and he said, NO!
That's why I love this sport people are so carring.
We ran 40 miles as a team and we gave it a good effort we finished in 25:08.
I ran doing almost 100% raw. I did not eat enough got sick of my crackers & raw foods bars. I ate only orange slices & banannas at the aid stations. Drank coconut water with pinapple juice. The last 10 miles I felt crappy so I ate fritos for the salt. So I'm not perfect. I also ran the race with a really bad cold. Which is worse today.
I still had an awesome time anyway!
Thanks to the RD & volunteers. Thank you Butch for hanging out with me for 40 miles.
And most of all thanks to Xy Weiss for sponsoring this run for me. Without her heart of gold I wouldn't of been running this race.
