WAY TOO COOL 40 MILE FUN RUN FRIDAY
Friday March 9th a group of us will be running 40 miles on the Way too cool 50k
course. We will be starting from the staging area just past the Damn overlook, the finish line of American river 50 miler. Drive past the overlook which will be on your right and park in the dirt lot on your right. We will be starting at 8am. We will run to cool via the Western States trail also part of the Rio del Lago 100 course. We will get water in cool and head out on the 20 mile loop. Please bring a hydration pack and snacks. There should be water at ALT and near HWY 49.
You don't have to run the full 40 you can run as far as you want and turn around. I will have maps for the Cool loop. So we will try to stay together until we reach Cool. It will take 10-12 hours. Bring a flashlight just in case. Last year we had to share one between 3 people. Please email me for more info if you want to join the fun. catrarunner@yahoo.com I will see those of you who will be racing Way Too cool 50k Saturday. I will be working check-in and aid at HWY 49.

Hey Catra Great cover shot! Very cool. I'm sure the running break was good for the body as you prep for the PCT. Wishing luck from Egypt!
Hi Catra, I've been following your blog for a little while now and just wanted to say that you,ve been a great motivator for me. I will be attempting my first 50 miler this coming June.

Hey Greg-
Thanks! I hope you get to come home soon. I'm sure you're going crazy running in circles.
It was great seeing you at HURT. I hope to share the trails with you soon.

Catra,
Wish I could join this B4Cool! However, this sounds like what I'll do for my Cool Night 12hr on 8/11. Since I don't want to drive, I'll take Amtrak and run from Auburn to Cool. Once I complete the 12hr nightly run, I'll run back to Auburn and take Amtrak back home.
Been there a few times, but I'm still not familiar with the trails around Cool. Catra, do you have a course map for B4Cool?
