I wish the rain would stop. Today it rained hard the entire time on my 8 mile run. Since it was raining I thought I would try out my new Patagonia spray master pants. They worked great keeping me dry. But I got hot wearing them. I wear pants maybe once a year when running and that's at the Wasatch 100 mile trail race. It gets cold at night there. Posted by Picasa

Me & Julia heading out for her b-day run. Posted by Picasa

Happy B-day Julia. 3rd from left. Today was Julias b-day so went out for a 11:30 hour run. She called the shots for the day we ran where she wanted to go. We had so much fun. I felt a bit tired, still recovering from Umstead 100. Posted by Picasa

The rain has stopped for a day. This was taken at 7pm today. Went on a short run with my little guy Rocky. One thing I hate about traveling is that I miss my little dog. I hope you enjoyed the beautiful day. Posted by Picasa

Happy to be home running again. Not happy about the cold wet, windy weather. I wish the sun would show up for a day or two. I hope everyone is recovering well from Umstead 100 miler. I'm a little sore. But each day it will get better, and I will feel strong once again. Go out and run. Posted by Picasa

The face of a happy Umstead 100 mile finisher. This was the day after. I was a happy camper. as you can see by the big smile. Posted by Picasa

Umstead 100 mile trail race.... I had a great run. I finished in 22:43 only 4 min. slower than last year. I thought it would take me 24:30. I didn't taper at all ran 100k two weeks ago and paced 22 miles at American river 50 m the week before. This is me and my wonderful pacer Doctor Tom Smith at the finish . Thanks to Tom I finished in 22:43. I will post a report soon. Thanks to all of you who sent positive vibes. Posted by Picasa

Spending time remembering someone you love. My Mother passed away 4 years ago on 3-31-02. I saw this waterfall it reminded me of her. She was a beautiful person. Yes, I miss her most days. But I'm happy to have had many years with her. She was a big influence in my life. She is way I can run like I do. She is always with me. She is every waterfall I see, every butterfly I see and in the night she is that brightest star shining on me in a hundred mile race. Mom I love you, thank you for being such a positive force in my life. Posted by Picasa
