“Most people do not know themselves. The real you is not that person you are when times are great, the real you shows when everything goes wrong. Can you hold on, can you keep pushing or do you quit?” – Ian Warner

Run de Vous 100 I finished in a time of 24:27 13th overall 4th female. I am back after two hundred mile DNF's in a row I got my mojo back.
I wasn't sure how I would do on no flat training all my training was at altitude in the mountains for the John Muir trail. I virtually  had no training on anything flat other then a few days of roads. I went into the race knowing at some point I would fall apart so I just went for it.
I knew I would have to start some walk breaks after running 30 miles since in mountain hundreds you get your breaks on the up hills. I would start my walk breaks at the aid station and walk .25 each loop. The race was a 2 mile looped course which was in San Martin near Morgan hill. It was scenic and pretty. I never got bored and loved seeing and passing and encouraging the other runners on the course.
Rajeev the RD is awesome he is the best RD out there so positive and motivating. The volunteers were very attentive to each runner and so helpful. They had a great aid station with everything. The potato leek soup at night was the bomb.

So I waited to fall apart I thought 50 miles nope made it through feeling strong, maybe 60 miles nope still strong, ok 70 nope feeling good! Ok 75 miles I started to slow. I was still moving though. I really fell apart around 12am I got so sleepy, I had to take three naps on the course so it slowed me down. My fault I did not quit caffeine for a week like I normally do, note to self always quit a week before no matter what!
My roommate Jerry came out to help me at mile 75 until the finish he kept me moving and was a Hugh help. He walked a lot with me and we ran some too. He brought Truman the dog we have been fostering, which by the way I haven't made public but I am going to adopt him ;-)
I was going to have Truman pace me the last two miles so I had to make it to 98 miles.

Little Truman did awesome paced me in those last two miles. YAY!!!

I feel great 3 days later went up on Mt. Baldy yesterday and ran my legs were just a little sore.
Thanks to all of you for sending me positive vibes.
I decided not to do the High Sierra trail need a little time to recover but will head out on the Tahoe rim trail next week.

John Muir trail adventure

Getting super excited about stating my adventure Sunday. I will be fastpacking the JMT from South to North and hopefully all the way back. I have Yo Yo'd the trail once before in 04 and established a speed record.  I was hoping to break the woman's unsupported one way  record but going this direction will be a lot harder I think, since I will have to deal with the altitude going up Whitney and heading right out on the trail after my summit. I will try though ;-)
I know it won't be easy all alone out there but that is why I am doing it. If everything goes as planned I will head back from Yosemite. I hope to finish around 14 days. Like I said this direction will be much harder than my first Yo Yo which was north to south. I have to summit Whitney twice ;-) so that will make it harder.
11 passes each direction = 22 passes total. I pray that the weather will be on my side. Anyone who has done the JMT knows that weather is a factor on how fast you can go. I have been blessed by weather most of the 9 times I have fastpacked the JMT so hopefully it will be nice out there ;-)
You can follow my facebook page or if you are not a friend follow my fan page. I will try to be in touch with Andy a few times while I am out there so I will have him post.

Please send me positive vibes on my adventure ;-)

The First step towards getting somewhere is to decided that you are not going to stay where you are.

. I need to move past all that and on to my next adventure right??
Ok so I am going to crew/pace Andy at AC 100 in a couple weeks and I will take off for my fastpack adventures on the 29 of July first up is the John Muir trail 212 miles going to attempt the woman's unsupported speed record and try to finish in under 6 1/2 days. I will also most likely continue on with the Tahoe Yosemite trail or I might Yo Yo the JMT again. We will see. I just need to be off trail to run a hundred mile race in the middle of August.I
I will also do a run of the High Sierra trail starting from Whitney.
My real main goal is at the end of August to be strong and in great shape to establish a pretty good time for a woman's unsupported record on the Tahoe rim trail 165. Stay tuned.
I have been training with a 15 pound pack so I am getting stronger. I will be training in Yosemite again this weekend. I have been there a few times this month.
Ok that's all for now.

There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.
- Nelson Mandela

Well San Diego 100 did not go as planned. I had some issues and just had no energy so decided to stop at 44.

I have been training at altitude in Yosemite/ Tuolumne area. I did a run up Mt. Dana at 13,057 ft and felt great I actually went down and ran up again to meet my friend Julia coming down.
On day two we ran up Clouds rest at 9,996ft(?) had a great day the weather was warm.

I really enjoy living so close to Yosemite and being able to play there often ;-)

Ok next up Western states 100 this weekend. Please send me positive thoughts. I am felling pretty good so hopefully my run will go well.

Ohlone wilderness 50k aka 100 miler for me

I am to report my calf injury was never an issue.
I decided to just run 100 miles since my energy was very low from 70 miles on I was down on calories and dehydrated. It was very hot and dry and I had a serious bloody nose which I haven't had for maybe 20 years. I had to lie on the trail to get it to stop.
I rested a lot in the heat of the day in the shade. I would get up a climb and rest. I am very happy with my accomplishment. This was my 10th Ohlone 100 miles finish.
I finished in 35:10. I had great pacers Michelle and Kathy. Also thanks to Jerry and mike for helping transport my
Pacers.
I volunteered for 8 hours yesterday at the race. That was a blast! Congrats. To all the runners and thanks to all my friends who support me.

Live Life, Love Life

Back to running after a calf strain, thought it was worse was on crutches and a splint for 3 days. Was not allowed to run for 7 days or work because I'm on my feet all day. It meant no Miwok 100k. I started running Monday and have been running every day. I am actual in taper mode for my Ohlone 131 which starts Friday the 18. Looking forward to that. I feel blessed and thankful it was not as bad as originally thought ;-)

“Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.”

Mt Diablo trails challenge 50k kicked my ass. I was taking Doxycyclines for a tick bite and it says to avoid sun exposure, I now know why. It was 95 degrees out and I truly thought I wouldn't make it, but i did.
I PR'd the course by 25 min. and came in 2nd in my age 12th female. It was my 2nd slowest 50k run but who cares.
