ALOHA......I'm in Hawaii, having fun!!!

My main plan today was to get to the Byodo-in Temple it's in a place called Valley of the Gods. I wanted to ring the the five foot high, three tone brass , called bon-sho(sacred bell). I went there to say a prayer and ask for my safe journey during HURT 100.

I felt so positive after visiting the Temple. I have only visited it once before. That was in 96 before the Honolulu marathon. I was happy to show carl this beautiful place.

I am feeling ready and strong and plan on staying positive the whole race. I hope that all of you will be sending me positive vibes during the run.

I will think of all of you and draw on all your energy during the race.

Yestersday I did my last crossfit WOD. it was a good one

Yesterday's wod

4 rounds for time of:

40-30-20

dumbell dead lift 25#

Push press #30

push ups

Lunges

time:16:05

I also did a tabata treadmill workout.

OOhhhh we were just there this past spring... the temple is AMAZING! It almost felt like that nook in the mountain was actually where life erupted from. Enjoy your stay, it's pretty much impossible not to. -Brad

Good luck on your race! And most of all have fun in Hawaii! (I am jealous as shit, you look awesome in a bikini. I'm inspired to give Crossfit a try just to try to look 1/2 as good.) :)

Good Luck to ya in the HURT, I just bought the book Running through the wall a few days ago and just realized this morning that you were in it. Your story is really inspiring. Oh yeah, I use to live in Hawaii on Schofield Barracks, its really good you are enjoying the sites there, its probably one of the prettiest places in the US. Keep up the good work, stay motivated, run long and strong. Ray

Hi Catra,
My guess is you won't get this until after the race, but it's worth a shot...
I will be helping out for the entire race at JAG aid station and pacing a friend for the last 2/3 of loop 5. I've visited your blog a few times and remember you from the race last year. I wish you all the best, and I'm your gal if you need anything during the race! (Especially my yummy homemade vegan oatmeal raisin cookies!)
