Mount Diablo in the background. I'm so hot!!
I mean, hot as in over heated and sweaty.... Posted by Picasa
Yeah it was hot today 102.4 that's what my watch said. I was out training with my pack getting ready for my fastpacking adventure. I was out for four hours and it was HOT!!! Posted by Picasa
My horoscope for today; Your tenacity and talent are what can turn this situation around, and don't you forget it. The stars give you a little extra faith in yourself just when you need it. With this kind of attitude you can move mountains.

So I ran only 50 miles of the Tahoe 100. Why? well going into it I knew my infection wasn't 100% gone. So I made a promise at the start if the bladder infection kicked in I would do at least 50 miles. Well it kicked in 15 miles into it. I took this medication for bladder pain my Doctor gave me. It's called phenazopyridine. it's suppose to stop the pain. It worked at home when I took it. I was hoping it would work in a hundred mile race. It didn't. I though if it kicked in by the time I got back to the 50 mile mark I would keep going. I walked almost 30 miles on the way back. I saw my tattooed sister Sara sitting at Snow Peak. I got her butt out of there. I really wanted to see her finish her first hundred. Which she did.
We mostly walked from there. I couldn't run at all because of the pain. we made it to the start finish in 14:40. The cutoff was 17:30. I once again made a smart choice to stop. I want to be healthy for my 601 mile journey on July 27th.

So along the way I picked out great campsites, in cool locations, when I'm out there to fast pack the whole thing. Out there, I thought often thought of one of my Angels, Suzanne Krantz. It was me, Suzanne & Linda McFadden who were the first woman to run the entire trail in 2001. I believe we still hold the record in 72 hours.
She passed away in 2002 from skin cancer. She always had a smile on her face no matter how tough it got. So if you saw me smiling when I dropped that's why.

Off to run the Tahoe rim trail 100 mile run. Send me positive vibes everybody!

Do your best and take the action because you love it, Not because you expect a reward.
When you take action without expecting a reward, you enjoy every action, and can even receive greater rewards than you imagined.
Love ya,

Soon I will be heading out into the wilderness alone. Each year when I fast pack through the Sierras I come back a different person.
I learn so much about myself. There are times out there were I have to face my fears. A tough and dangerous ford, a snow covered pass where I lose the trail. The sounds around my camp at night.
These experiance's teach me that I can do anything.
I know I have many friends and I know you all pray for me, and send positive vibes when I need them.
This year I will link up three trails, two of them I have done, and one I have never been on.

The Tahoe Yosemite trail will be the most challenging. I guess because I've never been on it. I just have to pay attention so I don't get lost.
I will have a link on my blog to a new blog that will have updates while I'm gone.
I should have a link next week to it.
Cheers,
Catra

wisdom card..I release the past with ease, and I trust the process of life.

I do not use yesterday's mental garbage to create tomorrow's experiences. I create fresh new thoughts and a fresh new life.

Tahoe rim 100 miler is a few days away. I'm excited about running it. I'm also very excited about my 601 mile trifecta linking up three trails. I will start that on July 26th.
Life is all about the journey :)

"Head like a hole as black as your soul I'd rather die than give you control"

`NIN~ Posted by Picasa
Me with my backstage after party pass. NIN kicked ass. They were awesome. Trent looks great, he's totally fit. He's clean & sober and he looks better than ever. This was their last stop on this tour. He will go back in the studio in a couple of months to finish his next CD.

If you ever get a chance to see them do it!!!

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!
This is me on the top of Mission Peak during my night run.
I'm thinking I might start my trifecta on July 25th now. This way I can head out to Badwater and help my friend Linda. I could summit Whitney with her and head out on my 599 mile journey. It also gives the snow an extra 10 days to melt. Less snow would be nice.

Night running...My favorite time to run. Tonight me and my friend Jerry will start our run at 8:30pm. We will finish around 3:30am. I always tell people when I go on a night run I'm going out to look for Mountain Lions.
I love all the creepy sounds I hear at night. . Should be fun.

~Don't overdo~
Always do your best, but don't overdo! When you overdo, you deplete your body
and go against yourself, and it will take you longer
to accomplish your goal.
hmm I was thinking about running the Tahoe rim trail 100 miler 3 days before I set out for my Trifecta, link up of the John muir trail, Tahoe Yosemite trail & Tahoe rim trail, 599 miles in under 21 days.
After pulling this card makes me think don't do anything stupid!
I would be bummed if I couldn't attempt the link up. Looks like I will be smart and just chill.
