Life is a challenge....................
I find myself these days asking why??? Why so many test in life?? Is it to make me stronger. Funny how things can change in a year. You can have everything than nothing. I know it's not important to have things but it's important to have people in our lives. I didn't manage my money all that well lst year. Taking off and not working and spending money left and right was not smart.
You live in learn. I am getting back on track, but each time I do something sets me back for a minute. That's ok I'm a Capricorn a goat and I will just climbing to I reach the top again.
Training run tomorrow: Meet at Mission Peak Stanford av. 7am for 31-36 mile run. You can make it 20 if you want to just go to Sunol and back.
Let me know if you want to come. It will take 8-9 hours.
This song by the Talking heads is perfect for how I feel today.
No mater how tough things get I remind myself I'm lucky to have great friends and an amazing boyfriend. Also I thank God each day I wake up that I'm alive :)
And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack

And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful
Wife
And you may ask yourself-well...how did I get here?

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the moneys gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.

And you may ask yourself
How do I work this?
And you may ask yourself
Where is that large automobile?
And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful house!
And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful wife!

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the moneys gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.

Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Water dissolving...and water removing
There is water at the bottom of the ocean
Carry the water at the bottom of the ocean
Remove the water at the bottom of the ocean!

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/in the silent water
Under the rocks and stones/there is water underground.

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the moneys gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.

And you may ask yourself
What is that beautiful house?
And you may ask yourself
Where does that highway go?
And you may ask yourself
Am I right? ...am I wrong?
And you may tell yourself
My god!...what have I done?

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/in the silent water
Under the rocks and stones/there is water underground.

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the moneys gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.

Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

You’re right Catra. It’s about friends and people, and you’ve inspired a lot of them… including me… thanks for leading the way… I’m on day ten of my first ever master cleanse! It’s gone really well. Your posts on the subject were very helpful. I’ve continued to do some short runs and rides throughout. Couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks! Have a great run tomorrow!

Hey Ultrarockstar- I'm pacing at Mi-Wok Saturday and going to the How Weird street fair on that Sunday.
What about this Sunday. I am planning on running at least 20 miles this Sunday too.
Let me know.

A passage from Dan Millman's book The Way of the Peaceful Warrior.

"As a matter of fact, Dan, I'm quite wealthy. One must become rich to be happy." He smiled at my dumbfounded expression, picked up a pen from his desk, and wrote on a clean white sheet of paper:

HAPPINESS=SATISFATION/DESIRES

"You are rich if you have enough money to satisfy all your desires. So there are two ways to be rich: You earn, inherit, borrow, beg, or steal enough money to meet all your desires; or, you cultivate a simple lifestyle of few desires; that way you always have enough money.

This is a great book that everyone should read. I have read your blog for awhile now. It seems to me you may be quite a bit richer than you feel. With your positive attitude and ability to perserver you seem to have some of the greatest wealth I know of.

Catra you inspire so many. Thanx

Hey Catra, as a fellow Cap, I know you'll get back financially. That's in our climbing little hooves. Funny that you include that Talking Heads song. Sometimes when I'm riding through my Dutch town, I have feelings of being out of place and a longing for the States. And always, unsolicited, comes This Must Be The Place... "hoooome, is where I wanna be, but I guess I'm already there...." Groetjes, Deb

When you started spending alot of money last year and took off from work to hike the trail I was curious how that was going to work out as it seemed contradictory to the philosophy you project on your blog? Like they say...you have to pay attention. Hang in there.
