BE YOURSELF..................
To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Just another day at the office. Saturdays 30 miler. I had a great run wasn't really sore at all after Fridays 40 mile run.
My body and mind are working together which is how I like it.
I sometimes forget how lucky I am, I have this body that takes me to beautiful places. I see so much out on the trails, in the wilderness. I enjoy taking pictures for those of you who can't be out on the trails. Or maybe you don't have the desire or maybe your afraid to just get out.
Once upon a time I to was afraid to be out alone on the trails. But I had no choice if I wanted to see the beauty I had to do it alone. I didn't know anyone who ran at that time. So I learned on my own. I took it in baby steps. I was afraid of the noise in the bushes or the cow standing on the hill. I was afraid when the wind howled and afraid of the coyote's talking as the sun went down.
It was my own fears that made me strong. Each day I got a little braver and I prayed to my angels to keep me safe on my runs. They have never let me down. All the things I was afraid of I laugh at now.
Go beyond your fears so you can live. If you stay afraid you will stay stuck. You have but only one life, so go out and live.

You are absolutely right! Most days I just need to pinch myself so I don't forget how imeasurably blessed I am. There are always a few bumps in the road but we can handle those - we are trail runners - we are used to a few bumps. Keep loving and living life!

Thanks for your blog and your insights. I just finished one of the Breast Cancer 3-day Walks yesterday, and today I'm kind of in letdown mode. It's probably appropriate after that much effort. But I'm also feeling sad about a good friend of mine who died recently - and who used to say inspiring things to me, similar to what you post on your blog. Gosh, I miss him.

Awesome stuff Catra - after reading that it makes me ashamed that I normally stay inside if it's less than 50 degrees :). Keep up the good work, and know that you're an inspiration even to people across the country that you've never met!
