Happy 4th of July everybody!
I'm here in Sierra Madre at Andy's house. We spent the morning at the parade a couple blocks from his house. Last night we put our chairs out in a place where we wanted to watch the parade. Andy noticed earlier in the day that there were already at least 100 chairs lined up and down the street. So we decided we wanted to have a good spot.
We showed up at 9:45am and waited for the 10am start. It was a fun time many old cars, bands and the Mayor was there. I bet everyone who lives in Sierra Madre showed for the fun. I love this town everyone really gets into celebrating.
Tonight we will run up to Jones peak to watch fireworks.
I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful time tonight. Enjoy and be safe.

Not all opportunity is good opportunity, so pick and choose wisely out of the opportunities that will soon be presented. This is a time to be considering the future and putting down strong foundations that will lead to success. If you build the foundations correctly success will follow easily. If you don’t take time to lay the foundation correctly then your plans are likely to fall down. Don’t delay or prevaricate at this time. Propitious happenings are afoot.

Hey Catra and Andy - have a great fourth.

I'm looking for some trail running advice for a 30-50 mile loop (or out and back) in the Sierra's either the 12th or 19th of July. I was considering running parts of the PCT off Ebbetts or Carson Pass. I'll drive up early from the South Bay. Please let me know your favorite runs. - wildexplore@gmail.com

I just read your entire PCT journal from beginning to end and got the impression that you're either vegetarian or vegan? Is this true? I'm really curious. I was vegetarian for 7 months, and started experimenting with the Primal Blueprint lifestyle/diet from Mark's Daily Apple. If you feel like dropping me a line imnotlikethembuticanpretend@msn.com or even replying here I would really appreciate it. If you are, how are you getting the massive amounts of protein you need to sustain your lifestyle? Thanks. Oh and great job!! You effing rock and are a major inspiration for me to someday trek the trail myself! Also, congrats on the drug recovery. I am going on 3 years clean from meth tomorrow! Keep on!
