Last set of pictures from the 43 hour b-day run
Joe & Catra at the turn around point for Joe. He headed back and finished 100 miles on the Ohlone trail
A very exhausted Catra. Antonia you were awesome for putting up with me. Wishing I was at home in bed.
This was taking on the steps of a very old cemetary. I fit right in don't you think, I look dead????

I'll be 48 in two weeks. No - I'm not running for 48 hours!
But congratulations on your run! You really are the Energizer Bunny.

Hi Catra, I'm so proud of you!!!! Ruby says: COOL!!!! I only snowshoed for 8 hours then ran for 2 hours but I started at at 4:55am friday and it was 0 degrees and below for the next four hours. I thought about you the whole time. My long runs are usually 8-11 hours. I'm amazed that you went 43 hours and it wasn't in a race! You're AWESOME Catra !! I probably won't be going down to the bay until Ruby's snowboarding season is over (April) because I drive her and watch her compete on weekends.Take care, Kathy

Hi Kathy-
Tell Ruby hello, she's the best kid you're lucky.
Girl you're crazy snowshoeing for 8 hours and in 0 degrees. You are amazing, I love your determination and strenth.
How has Ruby been doing in her competions???
Looking forward to seeing you at our favorite race the HURT 100.
Merry Christmas.
Love ya,
Catra

What a good way to celebrate your birthday. I've been following your birthday runs for 3 years. I'll never have a birthday run, since it's at about the same time as RR100. I guess I could just keep running Rocky Raccoon until I'm 100 years old, and call that my birthday run. Oh well...half-way there.

Happy trails,
Bad Ben

Catra, Just when I thought I had some sort of idea how long a person could run, I read this! 43 hours is, well, insane. It's also awe-inspiring. It's also inspiring - as in I've been inspired to do my own birthday challenge this year - at 42! Now if I could only get the folks at birthdaychallenge.com to respond...:)

Thanks for the inspiration. I can't wait to read about your 44!
