Day #5 of the Master cleanse. I'm half way there and feeling great.
Last night Andy and I went to the book signing of DKs new book. I haven't even read the first one. But I did see the movie which was awesome. Andy bought the book. We wanted to be there to support him. He was happy to see us . I have known Dean for 8 years since we have run many of the same ultras through the years. There was a good turn out. It's nice to see how many people he has inspired to run a marathon.
Fellow my space friend and blogger Kista and me. It was great meeting her. She ran her first ultra this year and plans on running more in the future.

I'm glad to hear you had fun and there was a great turnout. I've known of Dean for awhile too. I like his second book better, because of training notes. His first book was more of a autobio. I ran to Vromans Sunday night and read it @ the fire station Monday. I got home today and prepped my wife and daughter for 12 hours @ Disney, while I do yardwork, housework and maybe bike to one of my pools, swim laps and maybe work out @Monrovia crossfit for the first time , or in my garage.
I got interested in Ultramarathoning because of Dean Karnazes's book "Ultramarathon Man". I've read it twice, and every time I read it I end up involuntarily increasing my mileage.
His writing was so motivating-- sometimes it sounded far-fetched, but considering what the guy's done, it might just all be true!
It must have been a thrill to meet him. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Cat!
You look so great and fit! And happy. :)
It's 2 p.m. and I'm done with my chores and having my oatmeal, raisin, protein bcaa concoction. Then off on my bike to gerrish to swim laps.
Whenever your in Sierra Madre, if you ever need a physician, try Dr. Warren Brown of Proactive Care on Sierra Madre Blvd. He even has a gym inside.
For good food in a cool environment try Zelos (cornbread) pizza on Foothill Blvd in Monrovia. They have a good cucumber salad. They both know me. In fact I always see Eric Leclair @ Zelos.
Congrats on reaching the half-way point of the cleanse. I'm SO jealous that you got to spend time with Dean! I saw him come through Rucky Chucky when I worked that aid station two years ago. And I heard him speak at the SF Marathon.
Last week I ran my age -- 47 miles in a week, the most I've EVER run in one week. You continue to inspire...
Sweet! Dean! Great photos!
