Congrats. to all the Skyline to the Sea 50k runners.
My friend Jo Lynn who ran her first ultra this was at the start.

Andy and I worked at the Half way point of the 50k we also got to see the runners a second time once they did a 5 mile loop. the weather was awesome and everyone who came through seemed to be doing great. We also got to sweep the 7k loop which was awesome.
We also went to the finish line to watch my friend Jo Lynn finish her first Ultra. I am so proud of you, and all those doing their first Ultra. It won't be long until they all make their way to the darkside and start running hundred milers ;)
Way to go Kristy and Tanya for also finishing their first 50k's.
Gazo creek crew Rick, Will, Catra, Andy and Larry.
The course sweepers Andy and Catra on the 7k loop.
Jo Lynn, Catra and Kristy way to go girls on running your first ultras. I'm so proud of everyone who ran.

Hey Girlie!
Thanks for the props. You know I could not have done it without you. Your encouragement and support in my training is what pulled me through yesterday. It was so nice of you to be out there with Andy. It kept me going, knowing you were at the mid-way point and the finish. You are a good friend to many and I'm happy I'm one of them.

Thanks for helping out yesterday! While it doesn't look like I'll be doing Dick Collins in 3 weeks (thanks to the fall I took about 3 miles after I left Gazos Creek), I had so much fun yesterday (until I fell) that you might just end up converting another soul to the dark side and those crazy 100s...

Thanks so much for being there! It was so motivating to know that you and Andy were going to be at Gazos Creek and at the finish line.

It was great to finally meet you in person! And yes, this was the first of many ultras...

Congrats to everyone (hi Jo Lynn!) who finished there first 50k yesterday!

Hey Catra, thanks for all the help out there. I finally introduced myself to Andy since we've never actually met. It was a busy time though so it was a quick handshake. Good to see you guys out there! Much fun.

Wow! You put some serious miles on those inked legs of your's. Way to go! Do you ever post your monthly mileage and training schedule? I'd like to see how much you do and how you train for these great running events.

Hi I just came across your blog. I cannot believe the distances you run. I am training for my first marathon in December but I am totally intrigued by the ultra marathon. Hopefully one day I can hit hat 100 miler... I guess I should just focus on my 26.2 right now however.

Good luck on your races. Again I really enjoyed reading your blog.

Hi Catra,

Thanks for helping out at the aid station. You guys were angels! I came by complaining of blisters (which luckily did not progress much further) and you mentioned taping your feet for your 100 milers. After 3 back to back 50K's (two weeks apart) my feet are more beat up than anything else. Would you consider teaching a class in foot care and/or miscellaneous trail tricks for us newbies to ultraevents? I never experienced anything like this on road marathons or shorter runs and don't know what to do about my sore feet. I got Jon's book, but there's nothing like learning from a pro!

Thanks again!
Cynthia
