I did , I did It!!!! Well we both did Andy and I both set 100 mile PR's Andy ran 18:45 and I ran 22:09. It was an awesome day for us both. Andy caught me on his last loop with 11 miles to go. We ran his last loop together it was amazing to share his PR with him. I then went back out solo on my last loop. I felt great most of the day. And in the first time in a long time in a hundred mile race I didn't get a single blister woo hoo. That in itself in priceless. Ok more to come later gotta go to work just got home now off to work. I'm on my hundred mile high and I love it!!!

UNDERSTANDING.............
What happens to you does not matter: what you become through those experiences is all that is significant. This is the true meaning of life.

Congrats on a great PR! also for a great job at C2M too! (That race looks really killer)

It was fun seeing you and Mike Palmer at Second Saratoga Fatass. We got lost (!) and called it quits after the second loop. Nice course though.

Just started following you a month or so ago. GREAT JOB on the 100 PR! I have yet to run an Ultra, but it on my list of "to do's" I am doing Ironman in June, and then will start to train for my first.

I was at the Umstead race to help pace a friend and saw you. Cool that I put the blog thing and your tattoos together..lol.

You looked strong each time you headed out for another loop.

Cheers to a great race.

Being with my friend was simply amazing!!

Catra,

It was great to see both you and Andy at the race. I was very impressed with how you both handled each loop.

The photos I took of the race for Blake should be posted on the Umstead website today.

Keep running strong!

All the Best,

Dave

Nice job! Did you tape your feet this time to prevent the blisters or what did you do different to prevent them? I get blisters on most trail runs over a 50k.

A friend and I couldn't believe that people actually go out and run 100 miles, so we rode our bikes to the Umstead100 to check out the race.

We saw you running a lap at the 7 or 8 hour point and it seemed like you were running in a bubble of positive energy. Just watching a few hours of the race was inspirational for both of us.

My friend just finished his first half marathon and is considering longer runs after seeing this race. I'm working on my first "century" on a mountain bike. Reading your blog has helped me push for that extra mile to reach my goal.

Thanks for putting your story on the web, I think for everybody who writes a comment, there are probably ten more that you have positively influenced.

Maybe I'll get to meet you and Andy at the next Umstead100!
