Mini Dachshund runs a marathon 26.2 miles

Yes you read that right! My dachshund TruMan all 9 pounds of him ,ran a marathon on a gravel trail in 6:17.
He ran and raised money for a Doxie named Sunshine that was abandoned in the cold and snow near a dumpster she is being helped by KARF a senior dog rescue Kentucky. She is in the hospital and has fought for her life. TruMan raised $807.00 to help with her medical bills. She is doing much better and seems to be getting better everyday.

He could of run it faster but his pacer me ,was slow from running the 50k the day before and Coldwater rumble 100, 5 days before .

He was so strong and never slowed down I was the one who was slow.
Just because a Doxie is small does not mean they can't do epic shit.
TruMan has come a long way in two years since i fostered him and adopted him. He could not walk around the block because he was afraid of the world .
Now he's running wilderness trails with me.
He is my inspiration , he has taught me that having short legs means nothing overcoming all obstacles is in our mind.
I hope he can motivate you to get out and run. The DirtDoxie is amazing!!

Broken toes suck!!!

I was not able to run Rio del lago 100 because last Wednesday I accidentally kicked the Corner  of my wall, in my room and broke toe 4 & 5.
My ortho doctor is awesome he has allowed me to continue to run a couple miles a day. I'm slow and can't bend my left toes i tape them but hey Im keeping my running streak alive.

I celebrated 2 years of running everyday day 730 days on Sunday.
I ran 3 miles with TruMan on my broken toes
I feel grateful and thankful even with these broken toes . It could of been worse.
I see the doctor again for another x-ray before Quad Dipsea 28 miler. I hope I'm all healed since I will be running that race for the 17th time.
Life is good😁

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I finished my 7th javelina 100.  It was my slowest time of 7. I finished in 28:40 I think.
But I had fun even though I struggled.
I will see how I feel mid week and decided if I will be running Rio del lago 100 Saturday. I feel trashed today , which is not normal for me.
I am grateful and thankful. Life is good. Have a great week friends.

If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.

I guess it's been awhile since a post. Just getting ready for Javelina 100. I will be going for my 7th finish there. I was doing a short easy run Tuesday and almost fell. I ended up pulling my glute hamstring area. I've been getting laser treatment so it's doing better.
Today I took Truman to parties at PetSmart and Petco.

I don't think Truman was much into it. Once we got home to run he was happy.
Ok friends send me positve vibes for Javelina 100.
You can follow me on my Facebook athlete page , twitter and Instagram. Seems like I mostly post on those outlites these days.
Happy Halloween

Happiness is like a butterfly. The more you chase it, the more it eludes you. But if you turn your attention to other things, It comes and sits softly on your shoulder.

No finish at AC 100 I got injured 18 miles into it. That's why I live our sport you just don't know the outcome.
Next up Wasatch 100 this Friday , I'm ready.
Send me positive thoughts.

Ohlone wilderness 200 mile run

I am still amazed and how great I felt during the Ohlone 200 miler.

The first two days I just survived the heat of the day the last night I had to surviving howling wind and cold temps. I kept my mind positive and focused the whole time.

I need to thank those who made my run a success ; Ohlone 50k RD Larry Engle who have me the green light  to do my 200, of course to my favorite parks people EBRP all the rangers , Gordon, Neil, John , Paul and Mark who think I'm crazy but help me by telling the East bay parks police I know what I'm doing and I'm safe so it allows me to do crazy ass runs out there after the park is closed.

My pacers who took time out from their busy life to help me get to the finish Kathy D'Onofrio my main girl, who has been a part of all my crazy adventures since 2008 I think, without her I think I would have a hard time she has taught me a lot about staying positive, Donato Polignone who can talk my ear off and makes me laugh with all his crazy adventure stories plus he believes in me which is the key to keep me moving, Todd Shipman who this was his first time pacing me he had the hardest job the last 50 miles being a father of 1 year old twins I knew he would have patients when I slowed way down. He is training for the Tahoe 200 so it was important for him to see how a person gets when being awake for 76 hours. Each of you were rockstars and we all have great stories to tell I'm sure.

A big thank you to my roommate Jerry  for always allowing me to use his house as base camp ;-) and one last  thank you to David Christofili for all your messages while I was out there.

Also thanks to all my friends on FB for following me and believing in me. Oh and Trumie the dirt Doxie for pacing me 4 miles

Xoxo
