My friend James took this shot. I was sorting gear for my JMT YO YO speed record 2004. July I will again be sorting gear this time for a trifecta. I will link up three trails. The John Muir Trail, Yosemite to Tahoe trail and the Tahoe rim trail. I believe it will be the first time someone has did this link up. I plan on fastpacking the whole thing in 18-21 days. 596 miles, I will have 3 resupply drops. I will be going fast and light. Posted by Picasa

My favorite place to train, Yosemite. I love running up to the top of Half Dome then out to Clouds Rest then back to the top of Half Dome and back down to the Valley. I love the look on the tourons face's when I fly past them on the outside of the cable leading up to the top of Half Dome. I then fly back by on the way down. I spend a lot of time in Yosemite and I feel really at home when I'm there. Soon I will be back to train. Posted by Picasa

Next Saturday all the Ohlone 50k runners will be heading to the top where I'm standing. The top of Mission Peak. I will go over the top of Mission Peak 4 times during my 100 mile run next Saturday. It's going to be FUN!!! Posted by Picasa

This weekend will be mello. I will run 6 hours today. I will be pacing my friend Mylinh 19 miles at Quicksilver 50m race tomorrow and Sunday 12 miles. Time to get ready for Ohlone 100 mile run next Saturday. I hope you all have a good weekend. -Catra- Posted by Picasa

Mi-wok 100k went well I PR"d ran 13:22. I also ran Mt. Diablo 50k Sunday very hard double. I asked Sarah the RD if I could run 50k insted of the Marathon or 50 miler. I knew If I tried to run 50 miles it would take me 18 hours. they only give you 16. They were nice enough to let me do 50k. I don't run marathons so that's why I wanted to run 50k. It was hot and I was slow. I just had fun. 93 miles two days 25 hours 22 min. I had an awesome weekend. Posted by Picasa

Running Machine... Yep, that's me. I have been running like crazy. I ran Zane Grey two weeks ago and made it to 44 miles and was pulled because I didn't make the cut off. I was running with a friend and at mile 33 he asked what was the cut-off at mile 44 the aid station guy said 7:30pm. So we had plenty of time. We got there at 6:50 and were told the cut off was at 6:30. I was bummed never missed at cut off before. We were just taking our time because we thought we would make it. I ran it last year and the cut off was 7pm. Lesson learned always read race day instructions. Never ask an aid station worker about cut-offs. It was no ones fault but my own for not reading. I still had fun. Sure I had a melt down and cried. over 200 race's and my first DNF. Posted by Picasa

I wish the rain would stop. Today it rained hard the entire time on my 8 mile run. Since it was raining I thought I would try out my new Patagonia spray master pants. They worked great keeping me dry. But I got hot wearing them. I wear pants maybe once a year when running and that's at the Wasatch 100 mile trail race. It gets cold at night there. Posted by Picasa

Me & Julia heading out for her b-day run. Posted by Picasa

Happy B-day Julia. 3rd from left. Today was Julias b-day so went out for a 11:30 hour run. She called the shots for the day we ran where she wanted to go. We had so much fun. I felt a bit tired, still recovering from Umstead 100. Posted by Picasa

The rain has stopped for a day. This was taken at 7pm today. Went on a short run with my little guy Rocky. One thing I hate about traveling is that I miss my little dog. I hope you enjoyed the beautiful day. Posted by Picasa

Happy to be home running again. Not happy about the cold wet, windy weather. I wish the sun would show up for a day or two. I hope everyone is recovering well from Umstead 100 miler. I'm a little sore. But each day it will get better, and I will feel strong once again. Go out and run. Posted by Picasa

The face of a happy Umstead 100 mile finisher. This was the day after. I was a happy camper. as you can see by the big smile. Posted by Picasa

Umstead 100 mile trail race.... I had a great run. I finished in 22:43 only 4 min. slower than last year. I thought it would take me 24:30. I didn't taper at all ran 100k two weeks ago and paced 22 miles at American river 50 m the week before. This is me and my wonderful pacer Doctor Tom Smith at the finish . Thanks to Tom I finished in 22:43. I will post a report soon. Thanks to all of you who sent positive vibes. Posted by Picasa

Spending time remembering someone you love. My Mother passed away 4 years ago on 3-31-02. I saw this waterfall it reminded me of her. She was a beautiful person. Yes, I miss her most days. But I'm happy to have had many years with her. She was a big influence in my life. She is way I can run like I do. She is always with me. She is every waterfall I see, every butterfly I see and in the night she is that brightest star shining on me in a hundred mile race. Mom I love you, thank you for being such a positive force in my life. Posted by Picasa

Me and my friend Jack having fun on a run. No hands bridge in Auburn. We beat the rain woo hoo. Posted by Picasa
