THE SECRET OF HEALTH.....................
The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, or not to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.
Buddha
I was so sick last week that I had to cancel out of running Headlands Hundred. I was sad but knew it was the right choice.
I slept 11 hours Saturday.
I finally felt well to go out and run 20 miles on the Ohlone trail with Mike & Jerry
I felt much better getting out on the trails. Having poison oak & the flu really sucked. My week came to a nice end..........I got stung by a bee. Glad that week is over.
Moving on..........This week is much better I started my vacation today. I'm off until the 23rd woo hoo.
Friday I am running the North to South lake loop out of Bishop in the Sierras with Jerry & Linda. I love the Sierras it's going to be awesome.
I hope you all have some plans for the weekend ;-)

Glad you are feeling better and already out on the trails again. I hate it when I’m sick and can’t run. Good luck!

Hey Catra,

Just stumbled across your blog while doing some googling for CrossFit stuff. Two words: you're crazy! (and I'm hoping you take that as a compliment). I'm thinking you might be the kind of crazy that would dig the blog I started on Functional Fitness and CrossFit. Check it out and let me know! Hopefully, I can get focused and start posting as frequently as you do.

Good luck!

Phil

Catra, sad to see you and Andy dropped from Wasatch. I was going to use you two as my secret pacers since I've never been on the course.
But with AC just 2 weeks before, your decision makes sense.
best.

I have spent a lot of time reading your blog, and you are inspiring to me. I used to live in Fremont, across the street from Quarry Lakes so I have a lot of memories there. I used to climb Mission Peak all the time. It's so crazy how our paths could have been so close but never crossed! Or maybe they did but we just didn't notice.

Now I live in Maine and you make me really miss living out that way, Fremont has a lot of natural beauty which I can see you really appreciate.

Are you ever injured? I have been getting in to running lately and I love it more than I can express in words, it's a simple joy and a celebration of being alive. But I hurt my Achille's tendon in my left foot the other day and it has me worried about the health of my leg. What would you do in a situation like this? You seem so strong, obviously not invincible but also not afraid. I respect that a lot. I want to know what somebody like you would do in the face of a possible injury.

Anyway, like I said, you have an incredible blog and are an incredible person. I'm sad I never got to meet you.

Art the reason we won't be at Wasatch 100 is no money for a flight. So we will be running Rio del lago 100 that same day it's only a couple hours drive since it starts and finishes in Granite bay ;-)
In years past AC 100 was always a week after Wasatch 100. I have run back to back 100's more than I can remember. It's no big deal to me. Now Andy has only done that once and won't do it again ;-)
Good luck at Wasatch it's one of my favorite race's I have run it 6 times. Tell John hi and miss being there ;-(

COOL tree! Really beautiful. Where is it?
Glad you are feeling better but sad (for you) that you had to cancel two 100's that would have added to your thousands of miles :))). Have a great trip to the Sierras. Best, Ann
