There is no passion to be found playing small - in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.
- Nelson Mandela

Well San Diego 100 did not go as planned. I had some issues and just had no energy so decided to stop at 44.

I have been training at altitude in Yosemite/ Tuolumne area. I did a run up Mt. Dana at 13,057 ft and felt great I actually went down and ran up again to meet my friend Julia coming down.
On day two we ran up Clouds rest at 9,996ft(?) had a great day the weather was warm.

I really enjoy living so close to Yosemite and being able to play there often ;-)

Ok next up Western states 100 this weekend. Please send me positive thoughts. I am felling pretty good so hopefully my run will go well.

Sorry about San Diego but I'm sure that will leave you with the energy needed for a great WS. All the best Catra! I'll be following closely as South African Ryan Sandes, winner of Leadville this year is going for a top spot. I love your Mandela quote as well. :) Yay South Africa! Hope you come run here one day.

Hopefully I'll see you as you blow through Last Chance aid station (where I'll be spending the day). All that training in Yosemite should have you well prepared to whip the WS100.

Sending positive thoughts from the east coast for the WS100. Sounds like you are well prepared. I love your blog and hearing about your runs (and I miss the west coast).
