Look I'm running. I ran 10 miles today and felt great!
I had to moderate the post to my blog. Seems to me we have a couple energy vampires on the loose.
I had to delete some post which I felt were not nice.
My blog is for people who want to see what I'm up to. I veiw most all of you as my friends.
I just don't feel it's right to say hateful and mean things.
To these few people it's sad you even post as anonomous. (can't even say who you are).
Hey like my Mom always said, if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say it at all. I am very nice to everyone. If you do have a problem with me,my email address is there email me and I will tell you how it is :)

I'm not really sure why someone who doesn't like me, or like what I do or how I look would follow my blog.
People who have a problem with me need to look inside in themself.
I know when I use to be that way and had a problem with someone, it was not them it was me. I learned to take a look inside. It helped me grow.
Have a great day my friends.

I cannot believe someone would trash talk you on your blog. Being the good person you are you have to know that it is them and not you.
    You are such and inspiration.
I love to read about your adventures.

You put yourself on display. You have to expect both kind and unkind comments.

The person who is insulting you is probably jealous of you.....Otherwise they wouldn't take the time to comment on you.

When you post that comments about this unfriendly person he knows he is getting to you. He/she may continue. Delete the unkind comments and don't comment on them.

Keep up the good work on ultrarunning. You are an inspiration to many including myself.

    Catra,

I am so glad you got back to running. I had been taking it easier of awhile myself for some nagging stuff, and it is HARD to back off!

I love your blog, and I am about to get to the chapter about you in "Running Through the Wall" and I am excited to read it! I can't believe I had the discipline to read the preceding chapters first......

  11. What a great day for a run! It makes me wish it wasn't a rest day for me. Ah well, tomorrow's forecast looks just as good so I will either be on Alameda Creek or Mission. Great job on your return to running. By the way, how many people would consider running up Mission Peak to be "taking it easy"?

As for the people who post negative comments on your blog all I can say is "haters will be haters" and they are best ignored. Don't let them bring you down.

    Catra,

I've never actually looked at it that way, but that was the most positvie thing I've heard in awhile now. I love your spirit! It's very up-lifting to some people. I would honestly say from my view is yeah, they are probably jealous of you, why would they keep coming back to read on anyway lol? But they way you put it, is ace!

    Much Love to yah Girl!!

  27. Hi Catra,

Great to see you start to run on the greenish MP!

I do not see the bad words. I believe you'll be positive and we're here up for you!

Because of my ankle injury from Sequoia 50K, I'll run Fremont Fat Ass course instead of Mission Peak this Sunday.

    Best,

  28. I've been "out of the loop" for a while (been in foreign lands), and I honestly have no idea what was said about you... But I've been chatting with you for years Catra and I'll be the first person to say that You're one of the nicest and most genuine people that I've ever known. It's been a pure pleasure to follow your acheivement and to be inspired by your passion for life. So don't let a few negative, ignorant comment get you down because We all love you! :)

  29. Catra,

I think you are so very right, you should always own up to what you have to say, not hide behind the internet mask.

Glad to see you are running again. Your spirit and attitude towards ultras is pretty inspirational and refreshing. I hope to get to say "HI" to you at a Ultra on day.

best wishes to a speedy recovery.

  34. Glad you're running again, doll, and heck with vampires! Although I know no matter how much we all say to ourselves we don't pay attention, they do suck our energy...here is to hope that positive comments GIVE you back all that energy and 100x more!

One who places ones life on display must accept the positive and the negative. Feed off both as they both can provide you with the energy you seek. Some people mock not out of malice, but simply out of fun. I saw those comments before you deleted them. I think for the number of positive comments you get, 2 shitty ones shouldn't even prompt a response from you. I don't know you, but you seem as mentally stong as you are physically. So don't waste anymore keyboard crunching on them;)

YOU DON'T NEED TO POST THIS. IT WAS JUST A MESSAGE FOR YOU.

  36. Hey Cat, screw those people, you're right, it's them. Why are they looking/commenting on your blog anyway? Glad to see you're back running. I've only got about a month left and I still can't do the mileage I'm supposed to be doing. Aargh! Hope to see you soon!
