You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face… The danger lies in refusing to face the fear, in not daring to come to grips with it… You must make yourself succeed every time. You must do the thing you think you cannot do. Eleanor Roosevelt
Huge crossfit turn out at Quad. dipsea. It was nice to have other crossfitters try something new, like running an ultra. Myself, Robert Tuller and BMac all know what it's like to run Ultras but none of these people did until after they finished.(oops sorry Molly) Molly ran SF 1day before. They all crossed the finish line as Ultrarunner's yesterday. I talked to several of them after, and they want to run a 50 miler.
It was a beautiful day I felt slow in the beginning but really picked it up the last 14 miles. I was having a lot of issues thinking about my life and what I need to take care of.
I sometimes feel so alone in my situation. I know I shut down when I should talk about it but I feel so stressed when I think about it. I wish I could just disappear for awhile but that's not the answer. I need to face the whole bankruptcy issue.
I am getting 500 dollars less a month because one of my creditors has garnished my wages.
I got the book on how to file chapter 7 but it seems so overwhelming I'm afraid to look at it.
I am lucky I have a place to live for now. I have so much going on inside and I'm lucky I run because it helps. Life gives us many challenges and I just need to face mine.
Being out on the trail made me happy about life for the 6+ hours out there. Seeing my friends and meeting new ones made me have wonderful day out on the trail.
I finished my 12th Quad. Dipsea in 6:52 it's always my goal to run it in under 7 hours, which I did.
Thanks to all of your smiles and hellos on the trail or comments it helped me smile and have fun.
BMac of Crossfitenduarance.com and me, he's the one who really taught me how to run. Thanks for teaching me POSE Brian it has really helped me.

Nobody gets to live life backward. Look ahead, that is where your future lies. Ann Landers

Don’t be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.
During the holidays I always miss my parents and friends and family members who have past away.
I miss my Mom mostly during these times. When I head out on the trail for long runs I often image what my life would be like if she was still here.
I have her memory in my heart and I do think of her everyday.
Tomorrow is the 7th anniversary of my dog Oskars death he was such a funny little guy and his life was cut way to short. I will head out tomorrow like I do every Thanksgiving and run in his memory. I will run 40 miles along the Ohlone and Sunol wilderness trails.
I hope you all have a beautiful Thanksgiving with your friends and family. Hug those people close to you and tell them you love them. Let go of any disagreements you may have at least just for one day. And most of all let those close to you know you love them. We are all here for just a short time.
I love all of you.

Appreciation of life itself, becoming suddenly aware of the miracle of being alive, on this planet, can turn what we call ordinary life into a miracle. We come awake to such a realization when we recognize our connection to a spiritual dimension. Dan Wakefield
We must all be thankful for being alive. I know I am, it seems like I am being tested on a daily basis. I really don't know what I'm doing or where I'm going. But the one think I know. I am thankful for, is being alive.
I was really not feeling that great this morning just kinda tired, stress does that to people. But I knew one thing that once I headed out for a run my world would become a better place.
And it did. I made a point to say hi to each person I saw on the trail even if they didn't say hi back, I did my part on being a nice and kind person today.
Some time I just run with my head down and space out, but I wanted to make sure I was connected to the people on the trail.
I am thankful I am alive. I hope a couple people in my life get this that are having issues and connect with being happy they are alive. You know who you are.
Life is to short to live in misery and negativity.
There is a power at work that is not seen but nevertheless exists. When we are unable to deal with, or change, our situation this unforeseen power comes to our aid. So expect difficulties or obstacles to be transformed or even neutralized, but in all cases with a positive outcome. There is nothing to fear at this time, it is only a process, as the old gives way to the new. Without change growth cannot occur. The right ideas or actions will become apparent.

Accept no one’s definition of your life. Define yourself. Harry Feinstein
Today we ran at Henry Coe State park for the very first time. From Left to right me (Catra Corbett) Fast Jerry, Yo Yo Man and Mikey Mike. I was happy to share the trails with my awesome friends.
The weather was perfect.
I can't believe it has taken me all these years to run over here. It's only an hour away. Mike and I can't believe no one has put a 50 miler on out here. I think we are going to plan a fat ass 50k race out here in Feb. And we are planning a 50 mile training run in Spring out here too. And well, I have big plans and want to run a solo 100 miler out here sometime next year.
My life has been up and down lately My sister and I finally got rid of our house we owned together. We did a short sell we will get nothing. It's sad but true. She couldn't afford it anymore she lost her job last year and got a job but got laid off again. There is no way I could afford it that's why I moved out and we rented out a room.
Next step for me is Bankruptcy, I don't really have a choice I am so far in debit there is no way out. Long story, but I made a bad choice a couple years ago after the PCT and didn't work for almost a year. I thought it would get better but it didn't and I kept getting further behind.
I am going to talk to someone next week to get advice.
I know I need to stay positive but sometimes it's hard. I am smiling on the outside but crying on the inside. I just need to take it day by day and stay positive and enjoy the free things in life, like running on beautiful trails, in places like Henry Coe state park.
New beginnings or the possibilities of a new start are soon to be presented. Use your inner magician to pull together all the components of what soon will be in the offing, as you should now be able to manifest your hopes, dreams and desires. Remember you are only at the beginning, the first stages of development, so the more you are able to accept the more will be given to you.

If you do what you’ve always done, you will get what you’ve always gotten. Anonymous
That's just what I'll do tomorrow running a mix of roads, trails and peaks.
I need to take my car in, need a new windshield. My ever so sweet housemate Jerry was being nice and put new blades on but the wiper sprung back and made seven long cracks on my window and they can't be fixed so gotta get a new one.
So I will drop off my Vehicle and journey along roads and trails. it will be fun.
My BFF Julia will join me and I'm sure we might stop at a Starbucks for her along the way. ;-)

Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don’t quit.Conrad Hilton
Had a great run this morning cold out, but beautiful.
Today is a busy day. I teach my get fit class at Whole Foods and I'm teaching a healthy eating class. Going to make some raw food sweets for everyone.
I better get my booty out the door.
Go out and enjoy your day....

I don’t need to completely understand the big picture to know that my role is important. I don’t have to know the destination to know I’m headed in the right direction. Though I may not know where I am going, I’m not lost, I am exploring. Jana Stanfield
Yesterday was a perfect day did one of my favorite WODS. I call it Catra's Chaos
I added two extra running miles. here's the WOD.
Run 1 mile 50 squats, run 1 mile 40 lunges, run 1 mile 30 push-ups, run 1 mile 20 burpees, run 1 mile 10 handstand push-ups.
You can add any combo of exercises with it. It's fun when you want to run and want to crossfit but are short on time.
The weather was perfect but there is rain for Friday.
I was planning on running in Yosemite, but the snow level will be at 4,000ft so won't be able to run up Clouds rest. Instead we will explore Saturday at Henry Coe state park. Me and my friends have never run there, so we will go check it out. It should be fun.
Exploring a new area is always fun.
Enjoy our beautiful weather while you can. Get outside and do something fun!!!

LIVE LIFE LOVE LIFE...........
Andy and I on top of Jones peak or what use to be a beautiful peak. It's now a fire break. We started in Bailey canyon and went all the way to Mount Wilson and down Chantry. The fire break is a steep bitch. It's not a smart why to go and impossible to run. I was happy to see Mount Wilson and was happy to see they really did a great job on saving it from the fires.
We had such a fun run it was a cool day and cold on the top. I love spending time with Andy he is an amazing Ultrarunner. He is so nice to always go slow ,with his slow girlfriend.
We we are such goofballs when were together. I really can't wait to move to Sierra Madre one day. i love that little town and all the nice people.
We don't have much time to train for Chimera 100 miler it's just around the corner. But first up I have Quad. dipsea #12 for me and Andy has a 40 miler. We then have Ridgecrest 50k. Fun times.

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment. Ralph Waldo Emerson
There was a time when I was to busy to deal with him. But once I moved I decided I had to make sure he got out everyday. Most people think if they have a yard that's all their dogs need. That is so not true. They need to see the world they need to explore. Rocky is so much happier when he is out. I know I wouldn't want to be at home all day.
So I take him out every morning and at night my roommate takes Rocky out.
He is very special to me and I want is life to be exciting and fun. Rocky has traveled and seen more then most people in his life. He has been to Yosemite and Tuolumne many times. He has been to JTree several times. He travels to SoCal on a regular basis and has been on the Mount Wilson trail, AC 100 trails, Western states trail, Way too Cool trail and the Ohlone trail in Fremont, Sunol and Del Valle.
It makes me happy to see him out enjoying his life.
Andy and I are sad he's not with us this weekend because I flew down. But I know he is having fun hanging out with Jerry.
If anyone wants to get a dog go through a rescue or animal shelter. Save a life.

If you want your life to be a magnificent story, then begin by realizing that you are the author and every day you have the opportunity to write a new page. Mark Houlahan
Fun times out on the Ohlone. did a 20 mile run yesterday and it was great I wasn't sore at all. I was a little slow from my high mileage week but hey that's to be expected. Running 120 miles in a week is a lot of work.
I love Fall..I love all the beautiful colors that it brings. The grass starts to turn green again and all the leaves on the trees are beautiful colors.I love that chill in the air and the cold wind on my face. It makes me work a little more to stay warm on my runs.
The world is my play ground so I get out as often as I can to play :-) I hope you all get out to play to..It's keeps me alive it really does. Have a beautiful day.

To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment. Ralph Waldo Emerson
Just another day at the office. Saturdays 30 miler. I had a great run wasn't really sore at all after Fridays 40 mile run.
My body and mind are working together which is how I like it.
I sometimes forget how lucky I am, I have this body that takes me to beautiful places. I see so much out on the trails, in the wilderness. I enjoy taking pictures for those of you who can't be out on the trails. Or maybe you don't have the desire or maybe your afraid to just get out.
Once upon a time I to was afraid to be out alone on the trails. But I had no choice if I wanted to see the beauty I had to do it alone. I didn't know anyone who ran at that time. So I learned on my own. I took it in baby steps. I was afraid of the noise in the bushes or the cow standing on the hill. I was afraid when the wind howled and afraid of the coyote's talking as the sun went down.
It was my own fears that made me strong. Each day I got a little braver and I prayed to my angels to keep me safe on my runs. They have never let me down. All the things I was afraid of I laugh at now.
Go beyond your fears so you can live. If you stay afraid you will stay stuck. You have but only one life, so go out and live.
