This is what I saw coming off the peak at 3:15.
Rays of light shining through the clouds can only mean one thing! There is a ray of hope to always be happy and positive in my life. When I see signs like this I try to understand the meaning behind it.  Posted by Picasa
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

It was cold, drizzly & foggy on my run. I ran with my friend Jerry we ran for 9 hours. I feel a bit trashed still from my 42 hour b-day run!! Or maybe not getting enough rest, going out dancing, running or working out to much. Hmmm, no I don't think that has anything to do with it ;)

I'm going out to see a band, and go to a dance club so I will be busy tonight ringing in the New Year!
Be safe my friends and thanks for all your support by reading my blog and making comments.

I had this nightmare, and when I woke up I realized I owned a PT cruiser not a Dodge Nitro!
Lucky for me it was just a dream. The Nito is getting some special coating applied so this what I'm driving until tomorrow. It's just not the same as driving the Nitro.

After a night on the town.. Went out to the Blank club last night and danced all night. I'm so glad I don't drink alcohol. I don't miss having a hangover. It's hard enough waking up early the next day to run. With a hangover I couldn't do it!
This is me and my friend Erik, I bet he has a hangover today ;)
I will be converting him soon into an ultrarunner.
He's a marathoner but needs to come to the otherside.
He will!!!

I feel like I'm being tested in life right now. I have a few energy vampires waiting to suck my blood.
Don't worry I'm not letting them get close enough to me to do that. I feel sorry for them because they don't even realize they are doing it.
How do you go about it in a nice way and tell someone that they are sucking your energy everytime they talk.
I'm thinking just don't get caught up in a conversation with them.
I'm nice to everybody and I hate to hurt anyones feelings.
I guess if I just keep contact with them minimal it will be fine.

Thanks for always reading my blog everyone.
Tonight I will go out dancing..It's a good workout. Plus it's good training. I ran today, crossfit and tonight dancing. That's a lot of exercise ;) Posted by Picasa

5,000 mile legs, I got em...
On December 31st I will have put over 5,000 miles on these legs for 2006.
How many miles did you put on your legs this year???? Posted by Picasa
Today was just one of those days!!!
I felt like staying in bed and sleeping in. Which I did! That meant insead of Crossfit I had to go to my gym 24 hour fitness.
I ran and than went to the gym for an hour.
I looked at my log book and updated it and realized I would hit 5,000 running miles for the year no problem. I plan on running 40 mile on New Years eve morning. So looks like this week I will run very little until that day so I can hit 5,000 miles on that day.
I try and run 4,500 each year. I will have to look back but I think this is maybe the 4th time in my 8 years that i've hit the 5,000 mile mark.
That's a lot of running!!!
Have a awesome day...

ZEN CARD.....DANCE
in dance, no movement
or direction is better or worse
than another. This, too,
is the way to view all of
life. See all the "good and bad" things that
happen to you simply as
movements in the
dance of life.

WOW I love this card. It has so much meaning.
I get it. It is all just movement it is not good or bad it just dance and the way our life moves like a dance.
hmmm...I like it!

My X-mas night run! I ran 16 miles and loved watching the sunset and running in complete darkness with no light. Yes, I had a light but wanted to run with out it.
What a beautiful way to end my day. it doesn't get much better than this. My favorite Place Mission Peak! Posted by Picasa
Kaylie, Auntie Catra and Rocky...
Today was great my brother Jay, his wife Kathy and their two kids Kaylie 3 and Serenity 5 months came over.
I spent a lot of time with Kaylie. we took Rocky around the block and ran. She understands Auntie Catra runs in the Mountains 100 miles, and she also knows I work at Whole Foods. That's where my brother shops. But not at mine. But he always tells Kaylie that's who Auntie works for.
She told me she wants to run in the Mountains with me and she wants to have tattoos too.
I love just watching kids they are so free they have no worries.
I love to watch them run, we can learn so much they have no fear when they run. Kaylie was running and tripped and jumped right up and kept going.
I loved my time spend with Kaylie today. For the New Year I plan on spending more time with her. Posted by Picasa
MERRY X-mas from Me and Rocky...
This was taken this morning at the end of Rocky's 10k training run. He is more of a road runner. He loves to run the road. People drive by and laugh when they see him running and pulling me. I tie his leash around my waist and he loves to just pull me along.
I will get out and run again later but on the trails.
Merry X-Mas to all! Posted by Picasa

Catra's 42 hour b-day run.....
WHy????? that's always the question I get.
I say why not! I love to challenge myself that's why I always do a birthday challenge http://www.birthdaychallenge.com
I'm not normal so i like the hours with the age thing.

The morning was cold, and wet. it was raining a bit. I met my friend Julia at 5am. Joe and Mylinh would meet us on Mission peak later.
The run on the first day was uneventful.
Julia turned around 20 miles into it.
It was getting very cold in the Del Valle area on the way back. I had to leave Mylinh & joe because I needed to run fast to keep warm. My pants were at my resupply in Sunol mile 52, At that point I would have aid every 10 miles.
at 9:30pm I met up with Jerry who came out to meet me. At 12:30am I would meet up with Padma & Krin(sp?) Padma wanted to do a night run she's training for Rocky Raccoon 100. We took off from Jerry's after hot soup at around 1am. I needed to be back to the MP parking lot at 8am for a group of Bay Area runners that are called barfies.
I hooked up with a group of 12 and my friend Michele. We headed up the peak and soon the group took off. Michele stayed with me, we had fun chatting and me showing her my trails.
Michele had to turn around at mile 6. I headed to Sunol alone.
I met up with EB regional Parks police. Last year they harassed me for being out there, even though it was ok'd by the parks.
This year the officer was so friendly saying he was looking for me, and wanted to know that I was ok through the night and how I was feeling.
I was happy to know they we're looking out for my safety, and he even said he was proud of me.

I headed back to Fremont to hook up with my friend Ben at 3pm. He was with me the last three days of my Sierra 511 miler this past Summer.
He loves to talk so i knew he would be perfect for that section.
We met up and headed out the weather was looking ugly, like a storm was brewing.
Ben had to take off to Sunol by 6;30 so he had to leave my slow, sorry ass out alone.
I headed slowly down to Sunol. Heading back the weather was looking scarry.
My friend Dominic text me he couldn't come out to meet me. I was at a low point and that just intensefied my feelings. Sad, lonely and scarred. it was dusk and I was seeing things. I saw a huge flash in the sky. I thought it was a UFO coming to take me away to a far away Planet to become the Queen.....Back to reality..
The flash was trippy. I thought it was my handheld LED light that made the flash.
I heard thunder and then I panicked. Where the hell is Jerry. he said he's come back tonight...Call Jerry..Panic Jerry where are you!!!! No answer. I ran, and ran. I called again, I was getting really delerious. DUDE WHERE the hell are you!!!

I'm heading towards the peak I see a LED light coming at me. Jerry is that you??? DUH, who else would be out there. Of course it's Jerry.
I told him about the flash in the sky...We see weird clouds forming above. We both see the flash. I really wasn't delerious, well maybe just a wee bit!
Two more times we see the flash, we head quickly off the Peak. I'm so happy I will not be climbing Mission peak again. I have less than 5 hours to go.
I decide to go the back way to Ohlone college on the trail than wander the streets of Fremont and check out the Million dollar homes the last couple hours.
At one point I climbed into a little cave and just wanted to stay there and go to sleep.
We headed down into Fremont and made our way to Starbucks for a Tazo tea, Om was the one we had. We took ours to go. Well they sorta kicked us out since they were closing when we got there.
I told the guy working what I was doing, running/hiking for 42 hours. i don't think he got it!
It was so cold out, withen 10 min. the tea was cold.
We wondered the streets the last couple hours. Made it back with a couple min. to spare so wandered the parking lot a couple min.
I was happy I did it once again. I set a goal and reached it.
Thanks to everyone who send me vibes and emailed , called, and text me during my 42 hour journey.
Can't wait to do it all over again next year! 43 hours.
I said i would never do it again, run hours for my age. The next day I was already planning it in my head.
Oh, this was also my 50th 100 mile run. In the end I ran, hiked , crawled and moved forward 122 mile.
Happy Holidays

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!
Can you beleive i'm 42. I can't! I don't feel like I'm 42. Then again not sure what being 42 should feel like.
When I was young I thought 40 was old.
I look at myself, and see myself getting better with age.
I am not afraid to tell people how old I am. Some woman don't like people knowing their age. I don't mind.

This a picture of me, and my friend Eric. It was taken at the Blank club tonight. It was Goth night. I had fun just dancing and hanging out.
I better get to bed gotta get up early for work...
